FRANCHISED DEALERS
Franchised dealers have received quite a makeover in recent years. Gone are the
sales people in gold jewellery and sheepskin jackets (although if you really miss
these people see Independent Dealers, below). Gone are sales managers who will try
every trick in the book to keep you in their showrooms.
These days franchised dealers have huge, beautiful looking, glass palaces, with
soothing music and comfy sofa’s - and massively extravagant overheads to go with them.
Guess who those costs get passed onto?
We believe there is simply no way that a franchised dealer, with their huge overheads, can
compete with us and our low overheads.
Our aim is to bring the cost of buying a car down. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem
that this is the case for franchised dealers.
CAR SUPERMARKETS
Most car supermarkets do provide a large choice of new and used cars for you to
browse at your leisure.
However,
many take advantage of the fact that so many cars creates the illusion that they
are all cheap, and actually make their cars more expensive
than elsewhere.
Make sure you check their prices and finance deals against DC Cook before you buy.
In addition, most car supermarkets are interested in one thing and one thing only
– selling you a car. They do not care what happens once you’ve taken delivery; if
you do experience any problems they just don’t want to know.
That’s fine if you don’t want any back up if your car develops a fault. But if you’re
like most people and would like to be able to speak to someone if you do experience
any problems, then make sure you buy from DC Cook instead.
ONLINE CAR DEALERS
Many online car dealers provide a good choice of used cars and the idea of buying
online can be a tempting one.
But how much do you know about these companies?
Once you’ve ordered you’ll want to be able to contact that company to get an update
on your order – do they have a call centre set up for this very purpose like DC
Cook does?
How long have they been around? Do they have over 40 years history, experience and
expertise like DC Cook does?
Make sure you’re comfortable before buying – if you’re not, choose DC Cook instead.
CAR BROKERS
Car brokers purport to find you the best deal on the car you want and put you in
touch with who sells it – usually a franchised dealer.
But think – that broker is going to want a cut of the sale adding even more cost
to the price of a vehicle than the franchised dealer already has (see above). Check
those prices against DC Cook before you buy – you might regret it if you don’t.
Also, whilst we at DC Cook are trying to make car buying easier, Brokers are adding
somebody
else to the process – do is it really need to
be so complicated?
INDEPENDENT DEALERS
When franchised dealers were having those makeovers, some of the bejewelled sales
people escaped and landed here – independent dealers.
If you fancy a bit of wheeling and dealing and you don’t being told “sorry – you
bought it as you saw it” when the wheels fall off a few yards down the road, then
independent dealers are for you.
If not you know what do…
